New Providence Releases First CD
Burbank, California - June 11, 2007 - New Providence released their highly anticipated CD, Pirates of New Providence: Down Among the Deadmen. This album is now available to sample and purchase at their record label, ABET Music (www.abetmusic.com) and will be available shortly on Amazon, iTunes, CD Baby and other Internet outlets.
The CD includes 11 songs by, for and about pirates: sea shanties, drinking songs, Celtic ballads, and Irish pub songs. There are songs about legendary pirates, regular sailors and beautiful women. It begins with the rousing shipboard song, "Fire Marengo," and includes the well-known "Dead Man's Chest," also known as "Yo Ho Ho and a Bottle of Rum." The CD ends with the hauntingly beautiful "Parting Glass."

Burbank, California - March 1, 2007 - New Providence members are currently in the studio finishing up their first album, Down Among the Deadmen. The CD will feature 11 tracks about sailors, drinking, ne’er-do-wells, drinkers, rogues, drunks, and deadmen, including sea shanties, songs about legendary pirates and songs about, well, drinking.
